This project was outstanding on so many levels; I am amazed at the awesomeness of Team April! Students learned about collaboration, creating something bigger than their own individual interests ( who knows where this energy will go?). They learned about science, reading, writing, geography, and art. They learned about the special bonds that can take place within our species, and across species, and the list goes on.
These young, talented kids will always remember their very special teacher, and will make her proud as they bring their new knowledge of conservation into their own lives in various ways across time. For now though, they have simply brought great joy and smiles to many, many people who read this terrific book, which is the greatest gift of all. You have filled our hearts with love, Team April! Kudos to you all.
A member of Team April I had to get this book! So sweet, creative, cute, funny and wonderful artwork! The parents of all these kids should be so proud of them and kudos to their teachers!
This book made me laugh and cry all at the same time. If you have followed this epic saga you too will be touched to the core of your being. Long live the giraffes of the world and the students and teachers who help promote awareness if the plight of our wild world.
What an amazing story! Who knew we'd all be watching & learning. My favorite drawings were April & baby having hay showers, and team April's hair growing as we waited. Great little book, awesome job kids!
What a wonderful summation of an incredible time and story that touched so many. It makes my heart Happy to know the children are learning about our beautiful world and enjoyed this adventure with the adults!
Somebody ought to send a copy of this book to all the educational bureaucrats who think the value of education is measured by test scores. There is a science of teaching and an art of teaching, and this book is an example of why the latter makes all the difference.
The ages are listed as 2-18, not so. I am 71 and LOVED this. I followed April and Oliver daily and nightly. To see it the way these children did is more than heart warming. I supposedly bought the print for my great grandson. LOL I also bought the for ME. Imagine these children may someday read this book to their own children and grandchildren. While a book seeming to be a "fairy tale", they can actually tell their kids they were there. That it is a true story and they lived it with April, Oliver and baby. That the folks at Animal Adventure Park really existed and taught all of us a very valuable lesson in sharing and learning. IF YOU FOLLOWED APRIL THIS IS A MUST BUY...................(even if you do not have little ones)
