The world of the supernatural is a place of intense horror and blood-chilling danger. Dark, twisted monsters stalk among humanity from the shadows, seeking only to devour us.
Seems like somebody should make some money from all that, right?
Enter Eric Margrave, semi-professional monster hunter (He'd be a professional, but they really don't have a certification process for this sort of thing.). When the things that go bump in the night start actually knocking on the door, he's the one who serves them their walking papers... for a nominal fee. Prices negotiable. No demons, please.
In his debut appearance, Eric has entered the exciting world of real-estate, looking to set up a new safehouse. Good news the house is haunted, and therefore a steal at the current price if you happen to know how to work an exorcism. Bad news... well, the house might be a bit more aggressively haunted than even a freelance slayer of the paranormal is used to...

Most self-published works seem to find themselves rapidly filling up with five-star reviews comparing the author and the work to the greats of literature and genre fiction, which rapidly make me, at least, wonder more about the character of the reviewer than the quality of the book. I will not do so. What I will say is that Moczulski has created a highly entertaining and readable novella in the urban fantasy genre, the kind of thing that would make superior-quality filler in an anthology collection featuring Jim Butcher as the featured author. The narrator, Eric Margrave, is a professional monster hunter, and he's just bought a house to use as a safe-house in his business. He got it for a song because the house is haunted, but since he's a pro, that'll be no problem, right? Wrong. Margrave is quickly in over his head and how he gets out of it is equal parts action and horror. The narrative voice is quick and snappy, with plenty of snarky humor that keeps things light and fast-moving, the action scenes are descriptive and fast-moving once things get going, suspense and tension are maintained, and the final climax is suitably climactic with a touch of awesome. And best of all, the epilogue suggests that Moczulski intends to make this a continuing series. This is a good, solid work of fiction, kept firmly within the confines of the genre and written well. At an asking price of two bucks, it's a good value and an excellent way to kill an hour.Product details

Eviction Notice Slayer of Evil Prices Negotiable Book 1 eBook Andrew Moczulski Lander Kerbey Jennifer Moczulski Reviews
Very good story, I enjoyed it a lot and I would recommend it to others. I'm looking forward to more works by the author.
This gentleman certainly has potential. I shall look forward to reading future titles in this series.
Eviction Notice is a short story with high immersion through seamless detailing of environments and characters. You will enjoy it, primarily, for the characters, their interactions, and their responses to the environment they find themselves in. The plot itself really just exists to provide us a vehicle for these aspects of the story, and the author fulfills this purpose with gusto.
Gusto and competence, provided for a mere $2.
Keep watching this space, more good work is almost certainly on the horizon. It can only get better from here.
The writing was awful. The main character talks endlessly. I was so bored by all of it. There is absolutely nothing funny about any of it. I don't know what the people that left the good reviews read, it certainly wasn't this book. The listing says 73 pages, but it felt like 730.
This is a very wonderful and fun to read novella. The protagonist, Eric Margrave is a monster-hunter by trade. Originally intending to have to just perform a simple old exorcism in order to rid his new house from the ghost of its first owner, Margrave soon finds himself bewildered as all kinds of supernatural occurrences happen around him. He's not worried about the occurrences since that is what ghosts do best; he is worried because that's not the way things are supposed to go, the ghost being much more powerful than he anticipated. As he struggles to make his way through rooms full of dangerous apparitions that want nothing more than to tear him to pieces, he has to figure out a way to stop the spirit of the robber-baron causing it all with nothing but two silver-bladed knives and a six-shot Beretta.
And it is hilarious.
Eric Margrave is a self-acknowledged jerk and shows it time after time in the story, but he happens to be a very likeable jerk. His priorities are completely skewed and his internal dialogue is colorful to say the least. The author manages to mix horror, action and adventure very well with a lot of deadpan humor. His protagonist is sarcastic and witty, and doesn't take himself all that seriously even when his life is at risk. Although he does have something known as a "conscience" the pesky thing doesn't bother him too often; he is way too busy trying to be and see and do things that are "cool" in his mind. Despite having an unnaturally powerful ghost at his heels for most of the story, he will keep mocking and taunting it both internally and rather vocally.
Truly wonderful, and at a great price, too. The next story ought to be just as great as this one. It definitely provided me with some wonderful laughs!
This IS tthe BEST ghost story I have ever read. Even had truth built into it that ghosts get stronger over time through your fear. Too long a true story to go into hear. But this ghost story is second to none. Enjoy.
Oh, what a fantastic start to what I hope will be a long running series! The main character's sense of humor and snark is devine!! Makes me think he would be the perfect pal to hang with ( if I weren't so sure I'm deathless allergic to ghosts) (snicker). Seriously, you have got to give this one a read.
